The Katherine  Interagency Tasking and Coordination Group is responsible for identifying local community safety issues and developing and implementing problem solving plans to address these issues through a collaborative approach.

The ITCG’s Purpose
The purpose of the group is  to work collaboratively to support  community safety  in Katherine at a tactical level. To achieve this it will:

  • Identify and prioritise local community safety issues
  • Provide coordinated  responses and resolutions to issues
  • Elevate issues to the Community Safety Working Group when beyond the  ITCG’s remit of tactical resolution and  in accordance  with the Terms of  Reference
  • Provide advocacy, intelligence and advice on issues relating to community safety

The ITCG is Chaired by the local Police Commander, Katherine and Northern Command and comprises membership from the Katherine Town Council, Intervention and Case Management Service (ICMS) provider (Mission Australia), NT Police, Department of Local Government, Housing and Regional Services, Department of Education and Training, Department of Health, Department of Children and Families, Centrelink, FaHCSIA ICC and Department of Justice and Kalano Community Association.
